It is a nice spot. Some great hanging places for sure especially off trail. IIRC it is part of the NCST?

The NCT passes through ANF for 100 miles or so. another nice area to the south is Minister Creek Trail. It is a 6.6 mike loop that intersects the NCT. Went there last march with Leavethebronx. I intend to go back this fall.
I'd quote a certain book, but that is not allowed.

Nice - I camp in Kinzua Country for a week or so in late July every year - love that country.
The Southern Utah canyons are some of my favorite areas of the country. Enjoy the move and learn the change of geography. Don't be surprised if you, like me, are drawn back to the forests of the Appalachians (to the environment I grew up in).
