    2015 Minnesota Frozen Butt Hang

So it hit 90 degrees the other day, and while I was sweating my butt off at work I was thinking of all the fun last January in the snow. So I rounded up all the stuff I have collected so far this spring. For those of you that were at last years you will recognize what these are, I think I have enough for this year! For those that don't know they are closed cell foam pads used to protect outboard motors during shipping, they work good for sit and foot pads. Also saved enough cordage from boat shipping covers to help hold up the parachute.
Now to wait for another 6 months

MN Frozen Butt Hang 2015, Yea.
I lurked daily over this event the past 2 winters. Arrgh, six more months. I do not like dealing with biting bugs and muggy hot weather. I'll go with cold instead.

Those CCF pads were really nice to sit on and put under your feet. Here's hoping the 2015 FBH is a bit cooler than last years temps so that we can put everything to good use.

Perhaps some of us southerners might be able to make it! I may be able to get some time off and make an attempt at not getting Freezerburn... I for one thought it looked like a blast from my sweltering 30 degree campsite. What kind of extra gear should I plan on having that I wouldn't have here, (like that snow sled to drag your stuff with... you call it a Pulk? or maybe a hammock sock...) just want to be prepared. Not sure I could survive 40*below with my current gear.

Thanks for the info in advance.

To far out to get real excited yet, but I'm looking forward to it, and seeing all of the past faces and meeting new ones

KC You can never have to much cordage, keep up the good work

Shipsgunner, We have had others from NC and OH, you can do it, plan on at least 5 inches of combined loft from layered quilts or sleeping bags. Check out last years thread for info, group equipment spreadsheet

2015 should be 15-19 of January, third weekend usually

Still need a "local" to firm up a spot and be the point person

I'm planning to attend again this year. Being only 1.5 hours away, it's easy for me to head down and check things out of someone else can't make it.

TI too have pondered doing this one as well over last year. I am going if for no other reason than to see the parachute for myself! Right now my gear can take me comfortably down to about zero farenheit. Anybody had a Clark NX250 out there? Any suggestions on how to ”soup up” the performance for that kind of cold? Just wondering on what to put on the shopping list?
