    Linville gorge falls camping spot.

I am heading to Linville the weekend of July 19th. I have permits all lined up. I have only been once on the bable tower trail. Does anyone know if there are any camp sites near the falls to accommodate 8. I will be the only hanger this trip hopefully recruit some converts. I would like to stay close to the falls for some summer cool off in the falls. Any help advice is appreciated.

I don't get to the north end of Kistler enough to remember what roadside sites are up there, but there is a nice large site or two a short distance down Bynum Bluff trail. The trail is pretty much level that far in also.

Some advice would be greatly appreciated. I am planning on going down and camping in the gorge Saturday with a group of 4 guys 3 dogs. The weather how ever is going to make this difficult. The plan if the weather is good is to hike down Conley trail and camp by the river. sitting in 4 separate tents with wet dogs doesn't sound like fun so i am looking for some type of hike in shelter near by. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can anyone advice on a near by shelter or backup plan for bad weather? I was looking at the Green Knob Lookout tower a little down the road to hike up to and camp in.

Carry a big tarp down for a common area.....it would be worth it. The hike is not that far.
    Shelters are gloomy)))))

That Shug has sound advice . Once you camp on that river, all you will ever dream about is camping on that Linville River again. Dogs can carry tarp & lines. The "cowboy motel" could give yall a beak from rain on hike down.
