Noob from North Ga.

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I've been sleeping in the dirt, on the rocks,and roots for twenty plus years. My last trip was five nights long, some how I managed to put a four in gash in my thermarest on the first day. So, I spent five nights thinking there has to be something better. Thats how I landed here, did the usual week or two of lurking, and ended up buying two used Grand Truck hammocks. Neither came with suspension and thats fine. Anyway, wanted to say hello before I unleash a barrage of questions that I have. You folks have a wealth of knowledge here, and I hope to be able to contribute some day.

Welcome from a fellow North Georgian. Not sure what area you're in but if you're near the Cleveland/Helen area I'd be willing to answer whatever questions I can and let you browse some of the various gear you're going to be needing to go along with your new hammocks. I have a pretty good selection of gear to browse. Also keep your eyes out in the trip planning forum for a group hang. We haven't had one since the Spring so we're just about due to have one.

Welcome to HF from Athens. Our Ga group has grown quite a bit this year. Take SwinginIT's offer if you can. He has a variety of gear and knows his stuff. There's a group hang scheduled for Oct but we'll all get together before that as the weather starts to cool.

Welcome aboard from another Floridian, out of Georgia stock. Make plans to attend the Fifth Annual Florida Hang over MLK Jr. weekend in Jan 2015. There are quite a few who make the trip every year.
