thin stiff wire bent in half has worked great for me
thanks again,
Me too with the folded wire, only I don't use it too stiff. I like to bend up the two 'feet' to face the direction that the fold is so that it doesn't inadvertently disappear into the amsteel.
Living, learning, and loving both.
I use bailing wire or a paperclip for all my stuff. I have a plastic sewing needle that i use to pull out the threads for the ends. I use the wire for 1/8 and 7/64 and the paperclip for the zing it lash it. I guess it depends on what you prefer to do. Some people push and others pull. I find its easier for me to insert the wire from end to start and pull the line thru. With my big fumbly hands I find it helps from having to start and stop to get it thru.
More then anything else I would agree with watching youtube and always follow Sgt. Rock because... YOUR GOING TO DIE...
I use wire taken out of a piano, then pinched in a vice grip.
the inner wire from a telephone mains lead.
really easy to use and it slips up insidse the amsteel really easily.
Tons of good info here. That being said, I use a loop turner for 7/64 and 1/8, and I use a piece of doubled over craft wire (I think .20 size) for doing zing-it/lash-it. Now that I think about it I have to do up a couple more lash-it lines this week.
bicycle cable works well, too
18 gauge copper wire (Fabric or craft store) folded over.
