What to use to whip hammock ends?

I'm about to try my hand at making a gathered end hammock. Lots of good instruction on how to tackle the job, but like the title says, I'm wondering what to use for whipping the ends of the hammock. I notice that some have used paracord. Does that do the job, or is there something better to use?

I like braided mason line. I have used paracord and it works. It works better if you "gut" the cord and only use the outside part.

JKDmoo is right, just about anything will work. Remember, the whipping is not weight bearing. I've made 2 tablecloth hammocks so far; started with gutted para-cord whipping, but then went to braided mason line thru the 1/4" hem at each end (just looks nicer). Good Luck..... Grizhicks

===> Tarred Bankline from Memphis Net and Twine online. #36 or higher should work just fine! Cheap too. About $7.00 for 1000 ft. Makes great cordage in the woods, too - better for most things than Paracord in my opinion!

I've used all of the methods above with the exception of mason line. What I've found I prefer is a dynaglide dogbone, I start with a larkshead, then continue to make loops thru the eye.
