I am looking forward to getting to know you all. I would very much like to pick up a hammock for camping/hiking etc. Still not sure what hammock to choose though, there are a lot to choose from.

Welcome from SC. Watch for a group hang in your area. That's a good way to meet fellow hammockers and check out tons of equipment.
