I can't see any peculiar thing in your setup causing this, so I would go to Dutch for the solution. Also look at his clips that attach to the hammock and hold the shock cord. Those would keep the cord along the hammock hem until it gets past your head.

I use two small carabiners tied with a clove hitch to the ridge line, one at the foot and one at the head. If you loosen the hitch slightly, you can slide the 'biner along the ridge line. Once you find the best spot, you can simply leave them in place for a quick set-up. I also have four cord locks on the continuous bungee of the UQ, one on each corner, to help with the adjustment. Then the four loops of shock cord just clip in. The hitch should be secured at the narrow end of the carabiner with the opening of the gate hanging down. The hitch can be made using two loops with no need for a free end.
And used 1/8 inch shock cord- you can but it at REI or Jo Anns.

Yes....maybe you can just loosen the UQ up some.......

Thats pretty much what I was thinking and hoping to accomplish with the longer shock cord for sure.
The quilt suspension is practically horizontal before I get in the hammock and that seemed very tight to me ....but I've only had experience with my Phoenix so I wasn't sure.
Hopefully this'll do it .....
thanks
