    Why so much ENO hate?

Question, I have been on here reading as many posts as I can. I have been using ENO for about 10 years, I own 5 (4 DN and 1 SN). I have learned a lot of tips on here and am going to change out my suspension for sure. But, I don't know why everyone hates on them so much? Please explain, Thank you in advance.

You're probably just sensing our avid support of cottage companies instead (Note how Hennessy and Clark also get the cold shoulder).

The only negative press I generally see about Eno products are in regards to the Slap Straps. For casual hanging, lounging, etc, they operate alright, but for camping, they are much less desirable because of their tendency to stretch excessively. I don't see folks criticizing the quality of the other products (hammocks, tarps in particular). Richardson263 is probably right about this communities' tendency to advocate for the DIY and cottage vendor.

I've not sensed any hate for any specific brand on here. Most people on here would rather support small business.

I haven't seen any hate, but ENO has a smaller build vs the cottage vendors or what you get with say a DIY hammock.

Eno's are older hammocks that have been around for a long time. By this time most of the discussion is carried on by people who have a bone to pick with ENO. There are many satisfied and faithful users represented on the forums. But they have pretty much said all they have to say numerous times. So the only voices you really get now are the dissatisfied people who have to keep the angst alive.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

When hammocks got longer and wider at the cottage and DIY level, the mass manufactured products did not.

That's it in a nutshell for me.

Generally Eno products are more expensive, for less content, than the cottage guys. Which translates to people encouraging others to avoid those products.

They are one of the few companies offering retail hammock products tk the masses, however.

And personally I dont think the cottage guys charge enough for the work they do...but then again I make all my kit.
