    Ellicott Rock Wilderness Loop

Looking to do the Ellicot Rock Wilderness loop trail from Burell's Ford and back during the week of October 4. 3 or 4 days. Figure on just loafing along, not a speedster by any means. Question - do I need to be concerned about hunters? Can't tell from SC DNR website when and where hunting might be happening in that area.
And will I need any permit for the Wilderness Area?
I expect weather to be mid 70s high to low 30s at night. Sound about right?
    Thanks

No permits necessary and I don't believe there's any hunting going on right now. I would expect the lows to be around 60-70 and highs in the mid 80's-90's.

Deer hunting season will be in progress so wear an orange vest and you should be fine. You can pick one up at wally world.

I don't think any permits are necessary. Doubtful you will be in the low 30's at that point more likely low 40's.

Oops, I missed the dates you were going. Yeah lows will be 40-50*. I wondered why you thought it'd be so cold.

October and in a river valley, I think I'll stick with my estimate.

I would be very surprised if you see anything close to freezing in early October.
I camped there the 1st week of November once and my temp gauge said 28 was the low. The next week it was 50. Really no way to know this far out. 10 days out, you can get a good idea. Early October is awesome up there.

It's good to be conservative on your estimate, but as someone living in the region that does a fair amount of camping in that specific area, I'll be surprised if you see it that low in Oct. But it's certainly better to be over insulated than under insulated and like swampfox said, you never know around here.

Sounds like the weather here is Fla. Like to believe the weather forecasts ... but they lie.
