In addition to show and tell and gear talk, sometimes we bring stuff to trade or sell. If there is an interest, I can do some closet cleaning and bring some spare stoves, hammocks, backpacks, and ground dwelling oriented structures.

As far as brain picking goes, that can be lot's of fun, especially in an "intellectual non-zombie type way."

Don't know about Yetis but I think Alan brings a Snug Fit and I will have my JRB Nest and No Snivler.

Counselor will most likely have something to surprise us with since he has been selling some of his gear and I am sure he has some secret undercover/insulation plan.

There will be a couple of filters most likely, however when it comes to desalination, that is a whole different world. A Google search yields lots of stuff but nothing that I have seen that is portable and usable beyond just a few days.

Hey boys and girls need some info. Need to know the different options for under quilts, and under covers for the HH Exped Asym I know if the wife gets cold while sleeping then it's all over for her and the trip will be cut short. I just bought 2 Gear Guide 12x12 tarps to help with wind and rain, but need options for keeping her warm in her hammock. please help....

When I use my HH Exped, I use a KAQ Potomac as an underquilt and have had great results. I'll probably end up getting some sort of insulated inflatable to use this year, too. Thinking about an Exped DownMat 9 Deluxe.

The tarps should serve you well.

As far as bottom insulation. As I mentioned, I will be bringing my JRB quilts and quite possibly my Exped DLX 9 DAM that you will be able to see.

A simple underquilt can be made by hanging an older sleeping bag under the HH. On some outings I have had kids use 2 hammocks and in essence create a two layer effect. Sleep in the top one, suspend the other one just slightly lower lined with a blanket, pad or back up sleeping bag.

The nice thing about car camping is that you can bring tons of stuff to play with and try.

If you bring some old blankets, pads or sleeping bags and some cord, we'll help you rig something to keep momma comfortable. It's always best to keep the reluctant spouse, (male or female), warm and cozy so they will come back another time.
