If by the end of the week it doesn't look like Stubblefield is going to be open, then we'd better make reservations for another location with enough trees and parking areas to accommodate us all. I'd prefer to camp somewhere that allows us to have our vehicles readily accessible b/c I'm planning on this being more of a car-camping trip with tons of gear/luxury items than a stuff it all in a pack type of trip.
Sounds good. I'm willing to travel wherever the road leads! I just need to get away and enjoy a nice long weekend with good friends, good food, and good fellowship!
okay, I can't find the info, what happened to Stubblefield? Too much rain?
Mike,
When are you going to Dallas?
I'm free this weekend if anyone wants to do a recon trip.

They were having some sort of construction/maintenance project and the recent rains delayed completion.
I am actually in Dallas right now and will be heading home Friday. I actually did a recon to Ft Parker a week ago so my plan was to swing by Fairfield Lake on the way back.
Have GPS will travel
I will call WG Jones Park on 1488 between The Woodlands and Conroe today, They used to allow camping years back.
Ponderosa Marina has potential, At Luces Bayou on Lake Houston:

Haronmon Creek Marina out of Hunstville has clean bathrooms, electric, and is right on the water, great for car camping, $17.00 a nite, HOWEVER, to hang 15 to 20 it would mean "improvise" with several single tree set ups and car hangs.
I was planning on camping at Harmon Creek this weekend.

I think I can check out Davy Crockett National Forest this weekend. Specifically Ratcliff Rec. Area.
