I think you should. If you don't, any water would just run down the tarp and likely not onto you but they do not come sealed. Many people use Permatex Flowable silicone found in automotive parts stores. It does a good job getting into the stitch holes. The Ridgeline does not need to be sealed due to the way it is sewn. You could seal it if you wanted but its not necessary.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
Perfect thank you so much!
Never sealed mine. Never had a problem with water coming through the seams. If you want to use porch mode in heavy rain, seal the pull-outs. If you only use the tarp in A-frame style, you probably won't need any sealing.
Bubba and Hutzelbein nailed it.
I started without it sealed, then sat under the tarp in porch mode during a heavy rain.
I did get drips thru the pull-outs, which didn't bother me while in the hammock, but they were annoying to dodge while sitting under the tarp cooking.
Right on right on. I'll take my time getting to it then;-)
I also ordered a mamajamba, does it make sense to seal those pullouts with them staked out, or just stake the 4 tarp corners and then seal them?
I just spent 3 rainy nights under mine and it has not been sealed. No leaks at all. I wasn't using porch mode though.

Here is another data point for you. I got a little wet, in my hammock, on my first night in the rain under my SuperFly before I sealed the pull-outs. It wasn't in porch mode at the time. Based on my experience I would seal it on arrival, or before taking it on the trail for the first time.
