Best "single Strut" style stand that allows a tarp?

For an upcoming trip, I'm looking at using 2 hammocks off 1 tree, and I need a decent, car portable system for the "other end" of each hammock that will allow the use of a tarp.

I do have a handy hammock stand I could borrow, but I'd prefer a system that's a little higher off the ground, as I'm car camping, not backpacking

Lash a bipod together with the supports of our choice. I use bamboo in the yard for 2 trees that are too far to hang from, one is really too small so I run a line from the large tree across and looped around the bipod down to the base of the small tree. With a good angle on away from the large tree all I l then is attach the hammock straps to the tree and bipod. The only thing you need are the anchors for the bipod.

Lumber wise, what's the minimum you'd recommend for the Bipod? can I get away using a pair of 2x2's for each?

Sure 2x2's will be fine, just be a little choosy about your lumber selection, small knots are okay but larger ones not so much. Also avoid severe grain runoff and keep them not over 6 or at most 7 ft in length. They start to get kind of willowy the longer they are.
