Yes, model 117.740. Its a model that White contracted out to a German company for Sears. From my research, it appears to be complete based on what came with them when new, mostly.

I like the lines too. Thats why Im not passing it up. It was produced in 1956. I even get a matching chair for the asking price.

Thanks. The Singer 223 was a dud. Ill need to figure out whats wrong with it or just take it in. Cosmetically its beautiful, but the zig zag wont catch the bottom stitch everytime.

You'll be able to fix that, I think.
Is it dropping stitches mostly on one side?

First thing to check is that you have the correct needle in the machine. I once got an older Singer that had two different classes of needle in the 'sewing box', both in a litle 'Singer' envelope.

My 2nd guess would be a hook timing issue.

    This .pdf may help: http://parts.singerco.com/IPsvcManuals/20U31_33_35.pdf

There may be marks on the needle bar to help with timing.

Measurements are in mm. All the timing is done as the needle is rising from the max bottom position (BDC in motor terms). You can improvise a gauge for the height measurements if there aren't marks on the needle bar. Start with the straight-stitch timing and then check the ZZ.

Can you take close-up pics with your camera?

Make absolutely sure there is no lint, thread bits, etc in the bobbin/hook area the could interfere with the stitch formation.
