Is the eno double nest decent for casual camping? I want a bigger hammock so that my girlfriend and I can chill in it but also so if I decide to sleep in it I'll have more room.
As for straps, I've heard back reviews about the slap straps. Are the Atlas straps pretty reliable? If not, what should I use as replacement straps?

The Atlas straps are far better than the Slap Straps, and will be enough to get you (hooked) started hammocking. It's easy to set up, and has better adjustability. Then, you'll come here and read about all the things you can do to 'mod' your setup for better performance and comfort.
I am not sure about the double nest being big enough, but I do know that ENO makes the double nest deluxe that is 114" long X 84" wide. The deluxe should be able to provide plenty of snuggling room. As for the straps, I have used them and had no problem with them at all and I am 345. They are rated for 200 pounds each which would give you a total of 400 pound rating, per ENO. The Atlas straps do not stretch like the slap straps since they are made of nylon not polyester. Hope this helps.

I started with a DN and atlas straps. I've since modded/added to it significantly, but still have the DN and still love it.
When you're talking about sleeping in it, you mean with one person? If so, the Eno DN can be plenty comfortable for casual camping. There are cheaper and more expensive options out there, but the Eno DN makes a pretty good minimal fuss starter hammock. Mine quickly turned into my guest hammock once I knew hanging was the only way I wanted to camp.
If you haven't already, be sure to read up on the consensus around hang technique (30 degree angle, feet several inches higher than head) and basics around bottom insulation (typically required <65 degrees). Those are probably the most important initial things to consider as far as comfort is concerned.
ENO DN is fine for 2 to lounge around in, and ok for naps, but not ideal for overnighting.. the DN Deluxe is probably better. Get the Atlas Straps, just a bit more $ than the cheaper ones from ENO, and they have far more attachment points, and they don't stretch.
For 1 person, DN is great for sleeping!
I picked up a DN with a knotty mod in a recent trade.. I'm impressed by how huge this hammock is.
Have a Double for just lounging in, setting up at Casual Camp. Everyone Loves it, some Sleep it it if I put my KAQ from ArrowHead Equipment under it. Have Converted a Few With It. A Very Good Starter Hammock. Did put my Original Warbonnet Straps on it.
The Older I get, the Faster I use to be.
