Canvas is a good option in the north and like you said with a pulk the extra weight is not a big deal,,,on flattish terrain, but try and find lighter canvas if you can. One thing i would definitely suggest is a T-Goat roll up stove pipe. Makes a huge difference in the bulk department. Also don't buy too big a stove. The hot tent holds the heat better than you think and you want to be burning hot for a clean burn and also to cook on. I had a bigger stove and retired it for a smaller one with the roll up pipe. Check out "Out & Back" on the forum here for his stove setup. Good luck

It's one of smokehouse's. It was actually the first tarp I bought. Looking for it is was landed me here in the first place. I've got one of tigoat's stoves in there.

I was thinking about building the winter tarp off DIYgear's website, leaving one side the same and cutting the other longer without cat cuts in the bottom. Kind of like smokehouse's design, but a bit smaller, I thought about it and I don't really see the need to stand in the thing.
Canvas is next to impossible to get from a Canadian supplier, and if I can it is way too expensive to justify building one of these shelters for my own use. I may as well just use my Superfly and some hot water bottles in the hammock with me.
I was going to use silnylon, but heard that it is an extreme fire hazard. Is this true? Smokehouses design and Wawhiker's Twin Brothers tent appear to made out of sil, and they don't seem to have any troubles.
On another note, I found some cadpat 1.1 material at my local fabric store. I plan to make a winter tarp out of this and treat it with the DIY sil on the forums here. They have the temperate pattern and the arid pattern. I can't wait.
Thanks to everyone for their advice, I am glad that these forums are here.

The roof on the smokehouse is different fabric I think? or maybe it's just the stove jack
