    zingit doesn't fit figure 9s?

    Hi,

I've just set up my hammock for the first time and was wondering if others had the problem as well. Basically, using fixed-end-method, my figure 9s keep failing on the zingit.
I know, the 1.75mm zingit is out of the official range for f9s (2-5mm), but owl had both described as "great for ridge lines", so I thought they should work together?

Can you provide a little more detail? I use Zing-It and figure 9's and haven't had any problems. Are you using the smallest ones available? I got mine from a guyline kit which came with 4 of them. I think they are the smallest available. They're probably 1.5-2" long.

I use the little itty bitty plastic ones. Work good with tech line and zing it.

Mine worked when I used the combo but, I tied a half hitch next to the Figure 9 make sure the tag end stayed lined up with the notch.

I've since moved on to 1.2mm Tech Line (from DIYGearSupply) and Dutchwear.

I ordered several small aluminum figure 9's online, as well as the plastic ones, and they work very well with zing it. But I always tie an overhand knot anyway just to be extra safe.

Zing it didn't work with the figure 9's for me unless I double wrapped them it the bight. I switched to stingers, works great.

My tarp ridgeline used to be zingit, and I used a small (about the size of a quarter) figure 9. It worked fine with a double pass, andI always tie a slippery half hitch just for good measure though. Switched to reflective cord though, just because I had trouble with my (zingit) soft shackles not gripping well.
