    Dripline question

Having just made my first set of whoopie slings (following the Brew Guy's excellent youtube tutorial), I have a question re driplines. Does the tail of the whoopie serve that function, or is something else needed? It seems to me that they would, but what do I know?

As long as the tails are inside the tarp, yes, they can serve as drip lines.

Wow! Thanks for posting that video, it is one I've somehow missed. Very eye-opening! I've always assumed that my hardware would stop water, but obviously not always. I'm rigging up water stop strings this weekend on all my suspensions!

Just looked at the video again, and now i'm curious. Early on Derek says the string is 100% effective, but at the 5:30 mark, the setup is a whoopie hook with a string below it. The water clearly flows past the string in this instance.

You have good eyesight, Padre. Maybe a couple of strings in sequence, making sure they are wrapped tight, adds a bit of extra insurance.

When I first switched to whoopies, I ended up having some water make it past my (super classy) old shoelace drip lines. I added a few more loops to the prusik I was using, tightened them super tight, and haven't had the problem since.
