The numbers refer to how many cubic inches one ounce of down will fill and is measured under a specific set of test procedures which include a light weight on top of the down. The test specifics can be Googled.
Does that mean it takes fewer ounces of 900 fill down to achieve the same temp rating as 800 fill down- making a 900fill quilt lighter than an 800fill quilt??
