    Zipper

Has anyone used these from HD? They 2 to a box. And have a 2 inch sewing strip with glue on each side? 20$ the only thing is there only 7 feet long. Would that be to short?

I just checked their website - those suckers are really heavy...stated weight is .667 lb.

And as to whether they are long enough..that depends of course on what you're using them for.

You can go much lighter and a whole less expensive for zipper needs - go to DIYGearSupply.

I have no idea how much zipper you need for a gathered end hammock. I use a bridge that has the zipper 3 sides around. Because I'm short, my bridge is as well so it took less than the 16' I ordered to do mine, cost was < $5.00. Don't forget to order the sliders...

Oh, and if you do get the H/D ones, they're not meant for sewing in, they have glue on them. Sewing machines don't like sewing sticky stuff.

Take this to heart. It will save you lots of time and money.
