Who will it be? What will you do with it? I can't wait to find out!
I have a six foot bed. Will it fit or should I bring my bed extender?

The tree strap comments are running together a little bit. I think it's important to clarify again that Doe Lake is on National Forest land so FL State Park rules don't apply for this hang. 1" straps are fine.

Not that we should push the issue, but I don't believe it's even up to the campground host to say if we can hang hammocks or not. It's national forest land. Just my .02

It may be National Forest Land, but it is supported financially by Friends of Doe Lake, a non-profit that was created for the sole purpose of the preservation of the area. So agreed, let's not push the issue.

Now..back to planning shall we...who bought new gear just for this hang?

    Gumbo,
I made my wife a TQ for Christmas and just for this hang.

She didn't like the 23*F last year and vowed not to go this year if it was to be the same.

This TQ should fix that. 2.5" loft synthetic fill with sewn footbox.

Now the temps will be in upper 30's to upper 40's. Perfect weather for hanging, but, we cannot see how low this TQ will go.

For me, I bought a wok just for this hang.
New gear- ADutchable Clips and Speed Hooks for hammock. Zing-it, Dutch Fleaz and Dutch Hook for tarp.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Blueskycat will be happier this year because she will be in her own bridge hammock. You might not get to test your lows, but at least you will get to be out in the woods.

    FHV begins in two days!

New UQ from AHE too. We now both have one. I can give Grinder back the sleeping bag I used as 1 last year.

When I win it, I will have to add the Tarpon 160i to the donation table in order to have room in the truck.
