yes it was very warm under that tarp, would be great for a colder hang.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Remember seeing the parachute they put up over the community fire pit at the Frozen Butt Hang the last few years. Of course they aren't too worried about rain.
The blue poly tarp was great but I recall it was a big load all by itself for a guy to haul it up there. Seeing we don't have to schlep stuff like that on our backs at Yates, it would be nice to have one of those big tarps. I never owned one bigger than 5 x 7 though.
I have a big blue one, about a 10x16 or so.

I'm at Yates place now. Never been here and I just wanted to come check it out. I like it. So I assume you guys just do the community stuff right here near the bathrooms and then set up your individual hammocks back in the woods? I just had a total disk replacement and a fusion last month so I'm loving the fact that I won't have to ruck my gear far. This is awesome for me.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
Yes there is plenty of room I drove past the bathroom on the left went straight past the gate and parked on the left side (not to far from the hiking trail) great place.

Is it november yet?! I am so ready to hang, pretty thrilled I get to hang a Millpond and then here over a 2 week period with Halloween to break it up! Even more excited I convinced the lady to join the fun and give it a try!
Puppy love melts even a cold heart
Hope you get one early and make it to Yates. A big doe was having breakfast on my tomatoes yesterday morning in my backyard. And I live in a subdivision and I and all my neighbors have fenced backyards, and dogs. I think every N.C. mammal except bear and alligator has visited my back yard. Oh, and eagle. Hope to see you at Grayson.
