MS> Homochitto National Forest Clear Springs Trail complex November 14 - 16

Okay ladies and germs. Official Planning Thread for this First Annual South Mississippi Hang.

Date: Friday, November 14 to Sunday November 16, 2014.
Location: Homochitto National Forest Clear Springs Trail complex (This is located between Natchez, MS and Brookhaven, MS. From Meadville, MS, take US Rt. 84/98 west for 3.6 miles to Homochitto National Forest Recreation Area sign. Turn left at sign and go 4.1 miles to campground.)ee

We'll be staying at the Loop B camp area. This is car camping at its best. Plenty of parking, a central area for meeting and cooking, all pads have electric and water and most importantly, plenty of trees to hang from. You're less than 50 yds. from bath house with restrooms and showers. Lots of hiking and biking trails at varying levels of difficulty.

Last time I was there you could get two to three hammocks at each pad site. There are 12 sites on this loop so that would give us spots anywhere from 12 to 30+ persons.

This is a family oriented hang so please feel free to bring your kids and wives or husbands. My son will be there and he's 13. I act like I'm a lot younger so your smaller kids will have someone to play with as well.

Meal planning will be at group discretion. I'm willing to set up a huge pot of More Pork Than Beans or Friday or Saturday night. You won't be disappointed I promise.

Let's start getting head counts and filling in the gaps on what you guys want to do on food. Promises to be a hoot. Rock and roll.

In. Count me for two sites worth on both nights. I'll bring wood and should be able to pitch some grub.

Put me in the line up for 2 nights. Let me know what kind of vittles to scrounge up and I'll bring 'em. Might bring the ingredients to lay down some peach cobbler in the Dutch oven.

I'm in for sure...possibly two teenage boys also. I can bring wood and whatever else if you have any suggestions.

Are the campsites able to be reserved, or is it a first-come first-served type basis? If they can be reserved, what date are you wanting to get a final count by? My pheasant trip dates have been changed so I should be free, unless work interferes.

My intention is to reserve the loop. I'll be calling on this later in the week but I wouldn't need to know final counts until probably the week before. Should be fairly quiet around that date but I want to hedge my bet up front.
