A couple of things occurred to me when watching your video:

- What a joy it is to share something you love with your children
- Never forget to slow down and enjoy the trip
- Greyson Highlands is pretty awesome, I want to get down there and hike

all that and a nice song by Joe Purdy too.... Thanks for sharing.

It looks like you guys were the only ones out, except for ponies and other critters.

With a rainy forecast, the parking lot was only 3/4th full

If she doesn't have a trail name, I think it just became "Thumbs".
I was hoping for blueberries..
Where was the rock you two were on at the 5 minute mark? .

I like the trail name, I'll run it by her. I was surprised by the blueberries as well. That rock is north of Wilburn ridge where the Pine/Crest & AT join together.

Just watched the video with my 8 year old daughter...she's itching to go on her first backpacking trip. Grayson Highlands is on our list!

It's a great place for an 8 year old - just be picky on the weather, it changes rapidly up there.

Thanks for sharing. I finished a 3 day trip from Damascus at Massie Gap last week. I can't get me enough Grayson Highlands.
Also, I hope you're pup is still feeling better. I'm getting geared up for my buddy to overnight with me.

timd - I've got to explore Damascus to Massie gap. Looks like a great trip. Like you I can't get enough of Grayson - I'm sure folks are saying "another Grayson video?".

Yes, Joe Purdy. I need to give him credit. The bonus question is whether you know what we were watching when I got the inspiration to add it to the video.
And I agree, Grayson is pretty special, and spending time with enjoying it with my daughter makes it even more so.

Another Grayson video, yes please keep them coming. It is so much fun to share them with my wife. She to has had knee replacement and does not see hiking in her future. My son and I plan to be at the Grayson hang in Sept. Very excited about this hang. I think I might be able to get him to go back for a hike.
