Either weekend is cool by me.

Short is better....well at least that's what I try to tell all my taller friends...

Seriously, I looked at all the suggestions in the OP and some of them are major hauls for a 'one day in' plan. Pen would be my first choice.

As usual I come equipped with all my own gear including paddle but need a place in a bow.

True. To get to Big Trout in one day is a bit of a slog, I'd say. Only to come back out the same weekend. Pen sounds good, or Clydegale (never been to Clydegale...).

I know I'm not confirmed for the trip yet but would vote for Pen Lake or similar as well. APP is just a little closer for me and an easier paddle would be nicer since I just want to get away and relax.

    Hey gang,

I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

From the feedback so far let's settle on the 26-28, with a site an easy paddle in. The Pen Lake island was perfect for hanging, I'd be fine with going back there. We should book 2 permits to try to get both sites there.

Friday and Saturday nights? Or is this a one night trip? I know some are talking about going in early. I suppose it depends on the people attending. Maybe people that want to attend should post how many nights they can go for so partners can be based on that.

Count me in, Chard. Its been too long since I hung with you guys. I even have my own vehicle now.

I will need to pair up with someone in a canoe though. I'm a strong paddler in the bow but cant steer to save my life...

I'm good for going in Friday any time during the day.

Heck, I'm good for going in Thursday afternoon if there's someone else that wants to go in early.

I used to know how to steer but haven't handled either a solo canoe or the stern in over 35 years so I'd prefer a bow seat.
