Modded the above list as I now have my own canoe!

Also I am in for at least one of the group meals. Will get groceries or pitch in for cost, whatever works.

Cool! What kind of canoe did you get?

I'll probably do the shopping for the group meals and we can split the bill afterwards. It's just easier that way. Also, I can prep at home.

    Sounds good!

I got m'self a Swift Algonquin 15' love everything about this canoe! Took almost 2 years searching before I found the right boat at the right price.

It's 15 years old but looks brand new if it weren't for a few gel coat scrapes on the bottom! After this trip, it will have paid for itself by saving my money on rental fees, and I only got it in May!

Ah a new canoe, 15 years young. May she carry you over spray and calm to many wonderous adventures and safely home again.

I'm in for the group meal plan,2 great flavours! who could say no to that.I could bake something "bannocky" to go with it.
Wont be alot of xtra space in my kayak but I would like to help out with the fixins for those meals somehow. Maybe some fresh crawdads to throw in the pot?
I'm also still in for going in on thurs.

Yeah, I know the canoe purists are shaking their heads because I'll problably have to double carry, but 3 hrs in a canoe without a backrest and my back is gibbled! Dont want that I might have to carry more rum!
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.

Don't worry about double carrying, it's a short 375m portage and after all, what's the rush?

I would love to join but I have quite a busy schedule on that week with a TV Show filming that ends on Friday, Sept.26th. I would have to drive to location from Montreal on Friday night to be there on time Saturday. Is that something possible?

I would have my own 15' canoe, going solo. I can take a bow paddler if needed. I would love to join your group meal, just need to know what I should provide.

What time are you planning to leave on Saturday?

Also, where can I buy an Ontario fishing licence before I leave?

    Thanks.

    Hi PatT,

It's about a six kilometer paddle down to Pen Lake. If you got an early start Saturday morning you could easily join us before lunch. I think most of the group will be heading in Thursday morning, with others, likely myself included, paddling in the Friday morning. It's not a difficult spot to find and Pen Lake is narrow enough so that if we can't get our ideal island site, we can at least be easily seen by paddlers wherever we camp. If you tell us the colour of your canoe and/or life jacket, we can keepo an eye out for you.

You should be able to get an Ontario fishing license at any Ontario sports store but I usually just go to Canadian Tire.

I think the plan is to pack up leisurely Sunday morning and try to get on our way well before lunch.

I look forward to meeting you.

I just double-checked and I might be able to have my Friday off, meaning I could drive early on Friday and be at the park in early afternoon. I can paddle to camp and be there in time for dinner on Friday.

    Here's my canoe:

And here's me, hard to miss at 6'1" / 300lbs with my Tilley hat.

Since it's going to be my first time in APP, can anyone help me with some pointers on how to proceed to save time with registration (where?) and possibly GPS coordinates for the camp site?

Thanks, I look forward to meet you all !
