    EGL Fall 2014 Canoe Hang

    EGL Fall 2014 Canoe Hang

Where: Algonquin somewhere off of Hwy 60 (Pen? Burnt Island? Boncherre? Big Trout? McIntosh?), although something in Killarney that might be interesting. We'll stay on the same site for the weekend.

When: Either of the last two weekends of September to usher out trout season (Sept 19-21, Sept 26-28).

If you're interested, please indicate your preferred date and whether you prefer a short or longer day of paddling as early as possible. Pen worked out quite well for us last year, but we can't be sure to get those same great sites.

Im in. Sept 26 to 28 sounds good,Sept 24 to 28th sounds better if anyone is interested in going in early.
If its a lake like Pen, I will go in solo with my yak, anything further and I'd be better off pairing up in a canoe. Will paddle bow or stern.
One last shot at catching some specks sounds very appealing.
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.

I'm in too. Also, Ted, I wouldn't mind going in early as well. If we can convince Rofo to come, we can have a Kawartha Highlands reunion.

I think the second weekend I'm taking students to algonquin.

We are staying on whitefish though so if you're on Penn I might be able to sneak away for the day.

A little off topic, but i'll tell ya a funny story.
The wife and I went to nova scotia in July for a vacation. On cape breton we see 3 guys riding bicycles up big smokey mountain and I think wow, thats looks tough! A day or two later we see the same 3 guys at Cape north taking a break at a restaurant.I glance over at them and I tell my wife one guy looks familiar.Curiosity got the best of me and I pulled a u-turn. I just had to know.
BINGO! Wouldnt you know it. ROFO! What are the odds? She's a small world my friend. These guys were going to ride the entire cabot trail and then some.! Hats off to you guys for such an undertaking.

That's crazy! Nova Scotia's a wierd place. We bumped into my older daughter's friend and family at Fort Louisbourg while on vacation a few years back. It really is a small world.

And I'm with Ggreaves, it'd be nice to get the Winter Hang 2 group back together on liquid water.

The later weekend would theoretically be cooler and maybe the colours may start to turn. I have Friday the 26th off already so Friday and Saturday nights could work for me. Need to arrange things but I'm going work hard on attending.

I'm out for both weekends, unfortunately - but will be watching for trip report. Take lots of photos and catch lots of trouts!
Qualified to do almost anything with almost nothing. Ask me how!

    Awww yeah! I'm in.

I'm definitely free on the latter dates (Sept. 26-28), so that would be my vote. Killarney (or surrounding Crown land, I know some good spots), or good ol' APP is good with me.

I'm free on the later of the two weekends. Any of those locations suit me. I'm not averse to paddling a ways in. Ready to go solo, or in a tandem as required. I don't fish anymore, but would be happy to chauffeur a fisher person. Leaves will be changing then...looking forward to it.
