    Newbie hammock

Please recommend me one. I would like one that's fairly cheap to try and reasonable strong. Would used for fishing/ hunting trips so I don't need light weight as much. Green or camo to blend in would be nice. Florida swamp areas would require some sort of bug protection. I'm 6' 220 pounds.

    Welcome to HF,

Here is a good deal on a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter with hanging kit. You will need a tarp for weather protection. Get a blue tarp from Wally World. While you are there pickup a blue pad to keep you backside warm.

Check for a hang in your area and see the different setups. Watch Shug's video series for new people.

Read this forum and don't be afraid to ask questions on thing you don't understand.

If you are willing to spend that kind of money, I'd go with a trail lair from simply light designs. Top notch craftmanship from a cottage vendor and no tax or shipping. Also about a got longer. Can't go wrong.

There are lots of group hangs here in Florida; just not in the middle of summer, except a few very hardy souls. The heat index at 8:30 this morning was 93°! As Autumn rolls around and the temperature drops below 90°, there will be hangs popping up all around Florida.
