    30-50 degree TQ help

I'm in the market for a TQ that will take me between 30-50 degrees for use in Western NC this fall. I have researched the top brands but am still undecided. I don't want to spend a fortune but I want a quilt that will do the job. I'm leaning toward an AHE Owyhee long but am undecided. Any user thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks. I'll check them out. That was not a brand I'd previously seen

JRB makes a wearable line of TQ's. They can also be configured as an UQ in a pinch. Mine seems to be extremely conservatively temp rated.

I own the 40 degree version. Paired with a 20 degree 3/4 length UQ, I've slept comfortably, in med base layers, as low as 16 degrees.

    YMMV

I cant say enough of the UGQ quilts. have some TQ and UQ. customer service was great, selection of material and colors I think is the best. with the choice of 700 or 850 fill, you cant go wrong. I am using the 30F flight jacket supplemented with a silk sleeping bag liner cut and re-sown into TQ for when warmer or once the temp drops, to stay warmer. super comfy and warm. Friends are so impressed with the quality that they are slowly building their UGQ supply for the family of 5. my girlfriend loves hers, TQ 20F (flight jacket) is their pink purple material....(amaranth and peony) for inside and outside.

I really like my Hammockgear 40° Burrow. I think I added an extra 1oz. I was worried it wouldn't be enough for the 30's, but did just fine down to 35°. Above 50°, it started getting uncomfortable since it was very humid when I tested it that warm.

I've done most of my camping in Western NC with a HG Burrow 20F and I've usually been too warm/clammy except when temps dip into the low 30's, and I'm definitely a cold sleeper. I'm looking at making a synthetic TQ for temps over 30F.

I live in WNC (Mills River). I have two Apex top quilts. If you want to borrow one to see if you like it, let me know. I think they are both Apex 6, so they might be warmer than what you are looking for, but i have been using them the last couple of weeks during these cooler nights and not been too warm.
