    Storing Quilts

I know you dont store them compressed. But I was wondering if anyone rigged up a way to hang them. I can use totes and larger sized bags but Im running out of floor space. Any thoughts or ideas??

You can always rig up a old pillow case or a large laundry bag on a clothes hanger. Or get an under the bed storage box and try that.

I just hang from suspension off of hooks in my gear room. They stay nice and lofted and aired out

Hamhocker made a mesh hammock over the stairs coming upstairs. We lay them in there and on the bed laying flat

I have all of my quilt in large laundry bags and have the bags hanging on an free standing old coat rack in the spare room. The coat rack has enough pegs to store eight bags on it. Works pretty good.

I hang my synthetic quilts over a hanger each. To make the fold line negligible, I took a paper towel tube, cut it open lengthwise and put it over the plastic hanger.

I do something similar - I take two or three hangers (depending on the size of the piece) to spread out the weight of the item so it doesn't get any creases. For my good down items I simply throw them on top of my closet where they're not all squashed (i.e. compressed) whatsoever.
