I have a question though. If we are the first people there, and we take the short trail in, and no one else is there yet, how do we know when we are at the site? Is there a picnic table? a fire ring? a hot tub?
However, once you turn right onto the Florida Trail, its the first pond you come to, there will be a path to the right leading you to a group of trees, thats the "common area".

Pish posh and boulder dash! The weather is what makes if fun and nice at the same time.

Days will be nice, nights will have the pitter patter of rain on the tarp. It's a symphony and harmony.

Come on out to the glorious Florida Piney Woods.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Good gravy, man. This is the woods where it takes guts to get out there. We have no picnic tables, unless you bushcraft one. Nor a fire ring, unless someone crazy enough works to get a bunch of wood just the right size and custom makes one

By the way, last year had similar forecast weather. It was a beautiful time.
There were few mossies, but, the one that was near me didn't want to leave all night....Oh......the buzzing........

    Wait... there's gravy?!
And what about a hot tub? I notice you strategically failed to mention a hot tub.

Sure...I can bring a pack of instant gravy...to go along with them steaks and the poppers...

And any hole you care to dig and fill with water (line it with your tarp or poncho) in direct sunlight is an "hot tub" come ~3 PM......

The NOAA forecast for Hidden Pond. Note that I've had temps in ONF be up to ~20* F off of the indicated highs and lows, but this should be fairly accurate. It looks like the usual "Florida weather", in that there's a chance of thundershowers in the afternoons to cool things off a bit. Be cautious coming across that prairie, folks, if it's thundering; there ain't a lot of cover. 80s during the day and 70s at night, so beautiful hanging weather (if a wee bit hot for hiking).

Doing a couple of last-minute bike maintenance things (need to install new pedals...meh...) and finishing food packing, and I'm out the door! Woohoo!

It's not procrastinating, its proactively delaying the implementation of the energy-intensive phase of the project until the enthusiasm factor is at its maximum effectiveness.

I thought of the same and brought a scrap of mesh for the weekend. Thanks for the offer. I will be good with what I got. The mosquitoes don't like me to much anyway. I'm to sweet.
