I blame it on my family needing to have gear.

Its just a concidence it happens to be what I want for different seasons

I have a Blackbird and a DIY w/Fronkey bug net I use all year. I like a bug net even in the winter as I tend to kick off my top quilt or other gear in the hammock and the big net keeps it from falling out and on the ground.

I have a variety of non big net hammocks I take with me on day hikes or car trips or to mother in laws house in case I want to take a nap and or just rest for a few minutes. I am a member of a local wildlife club and when we go on day hikes and when we stop for a break I can set up my hammock in under a minute and be resting
while the others are still trying to find a place to sit down.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

During the very hottest months of the Texas summer I prefer one of my 100% cotton Brazilian hammocks. But they are very heavy and not a good choice for backpacking or even canoe camping, also take longer to dry out if they get wet. But by far the most comfortable hammock I have slept in over the last 40 years. What I am really looking for is a good quality nylon Mayan hammock that is not too large or small for very hot summer camping, obviously a bug net that protects the bottom as well.
Winter camping a DL WBBB XLC is fairly good with the right insulation it is a bit on the heavy side as well but gear gets heavy in the winter when temps are below freezing.
Having camping gear that perfectly matches every trip I take rules out a happy marriage so I can live with less than ideal gear. Way too many outdoor toys as it is.

I choose my hammock depending on season, bugs, mood and such. More often that not it is my DIY Greenbean hammock. When buggy my Blackbird. Some I have yet to ever use.

I use my Blackbird all year long. I do have netless hammocks but my BB has just become that piece of gear you like, rely on and are just so comfortable using it just gets thrown into the pack automatically.
