    Best underquilt for a n00b?

    Hey all!

Im looking to get an underquilt for my hennessy, but want it to still work with the BB that I plan on getting eventually. Also down, at least 3/4 length.
What would be my best bet under $200, but preferably under $150?

    Thanks

    You're kidding, right?

The JRB Shenandoah is about the only one I can think of that is full length and around the $200 mark. Great quilt, but it's a late spring - early fall quilt. I wouldn't plan on any real cold excursions with it. Course, you could always make your own. You'll save a few bucks on the quilt, but your mental therapy bill is going to go up a chunk.

I understand the desire to by gear that will work on more than one hammock. But with the price range you mentioned and the fact that you don't have the Blackbird yet you might seriously want to consider the Super Shelter for the HH. It is well below your budget contraint and if nothing else you could have the zipper mods done (and still be uder your budget.) Then the HH becomes your Cold weather hammock and the Blackbird (when you get it) will serve for the summer and should seasons. Just a thought.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

About any good underquilt will work with most common camping-type hammocks. However, you may want to re-think your price range, if at all possible unless you're making your own.

I wrote the Warbonnet guy (whose name is really Brandon ) to ask the same question, but without the price constraints. Like you, I have a HH with an eye on a BB, as well as a challenged budget. He did not recommend his Yeti on the HH, but rather the JRB Mt Washington or Speer Snugfit, primarily because of the differential cut of these two.

The price of either of these was such that I figured I might just go ahead and get the BB and a Yeti for not too much more. Haven't pulled that trigger yet.

Mt Washington 3-season. A bit more than $150/200 but they will likely have sales in the future like they have in the past, start saving up now. Evazote pads will work in the interim.

I don't have one yet but the Te-Wa looks like a good quilt. Mike claims temps in the 30's. About $185

you'll quit counting those birthdays later
I know you said 3/4, but the 3-season 2/3 Warbonnet Yeti + a ccf pad will do ya...do ya real nice too! (and is down and inside your budget)

I looked on his website, and can't find it, or should I just email warbonnetguy (who I have been told's real name is Brandon)?
