The Lite is legit used it in some rugged jungle and swapped with a buddy let him use my flex... def lighter but I guess when you have tons of gear a ruck and all of that already a couple lbs doesn't really matter so I could tell you about to noticeable difference.

but its def a great hammock feel the breeze a lot more but a nice sleep system makes it very loyal and its already pretty darn rugged in my opinion!

the Vertex tarp is MEGA!!! probably won't need anything else if you have one. if your able to get a extra low hang its basically a tent!!! and extremely light weight!

I go for things made in the good old USA... Trust me my ham mocking with the lite was no half stepping you can vacuum seal stuff in a good old water bag and it fit in the side of a old medic molle pouch so... its worth the purchase!

I’m thinking of using the Standard for short good weather days and the Vertex for longer bad weather days. Do you think the vertex I too big for some camp sites?

No I don't think the vertex is to big. I got mine with the slandered tarp for summer weather and then I got a warbonnet Superfly camo for the winter. I wanted the superfly instead of the vertex because it has doors, but the vertex is a very good tarp.
