    strength of large figure 9

    I've been using the large caribiner clip figure 9 on my hammock line (not tarp). I've used it 5 nights now with no issues, no appearance of any issues, but I remember reading a while back these things weren't meant for that sort of load. Anybody else using this? Am I due a big thump?

    load limit

    I am not sure what the load limit is but I have hung in mine before and I am just shy of 190. I did not notice any stress on anything either.

    Here is a picture of the large fig9 lifting 900 pounds. It did start to cut into the rope though.

    I'm using a CARIBINER version of the figure 9. It does help to see that a similar product by the same manufacturer which is similarly rated to 150 lbs is able to lift such a large amount of weight over its rating.
