HH Explorer Deluxe Zip just arrived

I finally got my explorer deluxe zip a few days ago but I have been way to busy to even take it out of the bag and it's killing me. I also ordered snake skins and descending ring with it but they were back ordered and should be here by the end of the week. I should be hanging in it tomorrow if things go as planed. Any tips for a first time user.

Mark the head end and foot end so that you can set it up the way you want it while it's still in the snake skins.

Is there already a head and foot end or does it just depend how I like sleeping in it.

Everything depends on how you like sleeping in it ;-)

Kidding aside, zipper would be on the right. I mark the head end when I pack it up by neatly wrapping the whoopie on the head end, and wrapping the foot end whoopie around the folded snakeskins.

I love my Hennessy, enjoy your hang!

I marked the foot end of my HH ED (bottom entry, but with the 2QZQ mod #4 as well) with a piece of trail marking tape in the loop of the whoopie. Can't miss it, clearly let's me know which end is which even when it's in the snake skins or lazy slug tubes.

First time in the hammock, you will need to figure out what works for you. Foot end a title seems to work for most. Move around until you are able to lie flat.

I marked my head end with colored 550 cord drip strings. The foot end has brown color. That away I know witch way im laying before I undo it from the snake skins( basically) you know witch end your laying before you get the hammock out and set up.

Finally had a chance to lay in my hammock and love it. I found that if I lay with the shorter zipper for the head end, it works better. That would make the long zipper the foot end. The zipper is on my left. Does that sound right. I was a bit skeptics the first time I got in. I'm 270# but after awhile I feel safe now. This nylon must be tough stuff

The Hennesseys are designed too be laid in with your head slightly left of center and your feet slightly right. Which end you choose as a head end is a matter of preference. I like to keep the zipper on my right. This means my feet end up closer to the opening, and getting in and out is a bit easier. But as always, lay your own lay.
