Help - Want to make Vertex work

I'm still trying to get the hang of setting up the vertex. It takes me about an hour of fiddling and its still not right... I'd like to try the following and am interested on suggestions / experience. My goal is to setup a ridgeline so I can get the lay right (it is supposed to have a 45* angle from the tree) and improve the tree strap system (which is impossible for me to setup alone).

My thought is to swap out the entire suspension and put a long amsteel continuous loop at each gathered end (4 of them) connected to a cinch buckle / strap combo. Then connect a ridgeline between the cinch buckles of each canoe. The loops will need to be long enough so the ridgeline can clear the top of the vertex and its canopy/poles..

I really like the idea of the vertex for the wife and 5 year old, but am stuck on the ground until I figure this out. Thanks for the suggestions...

I don't have any direct advice..yet. But I am considering either getting one of these or DIYing a similar, so I'm interested to see how you work this out.
Maybe post some photos of the setup, and I'll see if I can suggest anything

I had whoopies out to tree straps on mine. No ridgeline and it worked great. Need to have some sag where the poles are leaning toward the middle a bit. Good luck to you.

1st setup took me some time as well using the stock suspension. Using another suspension system that can support the weight you need can speed things up. I've had good luck with the SMR suspension as I am very confident it can support 2 and gear or 3 people as you are doing. It'll get faster the more practice you get in.

i use dutch buckles on mine. For me the difficult part is finding three trees that will form the correct angle ... I find myself switching to the inside or outside of a tree to improve the angle of the suspension on the head side. You'll have to post a photo of your ridgeline setup, I am having a hard time visualizing how it will work.
