i would just let it loft up, and measure how much you got. that's more important than anything else.

ive got quilts from 3 vendors and 1 in particular stood out, all where the same amount of down to my understanding and the 1 that was 5 inches wider was lofting easily .5" higher............ don't feel I got ripped off by any1 but I now know where to spend my $$$$
By my calcs, seems right that the new fabric would cut about 2 oz from old weight + 2 oz of extra down would yield published weight for old fabric UQ, normal fill.

I don't know if this picture will help you. In the forefront is a 40F 3/4 Phoenix UQ. With no additional down.
You can kind of see how much it lofts.
Yours should loft a little better but not much. 2oz of extra down distributed to 7 down tubes (8.1 grams per)
in a full length quilt will spread it pretty thin.

You didn't actually cut open your quilt did you? You realize your talking 2 ounces of weight? Remember every quilt is hand made and you can't have exact specs. Also as others said, new and lighter fabric, changes in suspension, these are a constant and will easily account for 2oz. Hammock Gear is a very reputable maker and isn't out to cheat people out of and ounce of feathers. Calm down, I'm sure it there, besides, one ounce won't make or break you.....
That's too funny about cutting it open. I believe the OP has put up pics of other projects.
In my eyes, getting 2 ounces of extra fill and getting the same overall weight is a win. The quilt will get you better cold resiliencey without making it any heavier whatsoever. That's the winning ticket.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
Stormcrow would not short shrift on the down. I know the man and he knows how to make a quilt. It is more than likely the chance in fabrics and suspension.
When you properly adjust it and actually sleep out in the hammock with it I imagine you'll be quite satisfied...especially from a second hand purchase.

The only problem is that it caused a mistrust with the person selling me the quilt and then the company. But again I am very particular about my gear, updating the website would have avoided this and maybe after this thread someone else won't have trust issues as I did. I really love my quilt and they are still going to get my business, a winter palace has been calling my name for a long time now.
