I don't have much experience with synthetics and I was wondering if it's bad to keep it stored in a stuff sack for long period of time. I know with down you don't want to leave it compressed and it's best to let the loft air out.

I don't have an underquilt yet, but I do have a synthetic sleeping bag. I was told it is best to store it hanging loose to keep its integrity, and after 14 years, if I didn't know any better, I'd think it was a brand new bag.
