CA>SanFran>Mendocino>Redwood NP

We flew into SanFran on Saturday 8/9. Hung in Golden Gate National Rec Area Saturday night. We had reservations at Haypress Campground which was nice just not for hanging. Sunday and Monday night we had a house in Mendocino to stay at. We rode horses on the beach. Ate and drank good. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will headed up the coast to Redwood NP. Tuesday we grabbed our backcountry permits and stayed Tuesday night at Nickel Creek Camp, which was by far our favorite spot. It had a good selection of trees and overlooked the ocean. Wednesday we stayed at 44 Camp which was nice but we almost had a tree take us out. Tall Trees Grove is a must for those looking to visit Redwood NP. We headed back to the house for some R & R Thursday and Friday. Back to ATL Saturday. All and all a pretty epic trip!

Thanks for sharing the adventure! Looks like y'all had a great trip. Gonna need some bigger straps for those trees.

There were some pretty big'uns, but surprisingly not as many as I expected. The Red Woods were only in small pocket and the old growth in even smaller ones. Definitely glad I was able to check 'em out.
