    Detroit Hanger

I'm a longtime back-country camper and recently tried a hammock after getting many endorsements from my son. I borrowed his ENO Double Nest and enjoyed 2 nights of very comfortable sleep. The biggest surprise was the lack of aches and back stiffness that I usually get from sleeping on a pad on the ground (and I have a good pad!). Now comes the many questions as I prepare for my fall solo trip.

Hi Clyde, what area of Detroit are you from? I'm from Rochester and spent my 1st nights hammock camping last weekend Up North in Harrison.

Packard Plant? Michigan Central Station? Belle Isle? all sound like good places to hang!

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

I am from the Farmington Hills/Livonia area. We have a MI hang happening on Oct 10-13 at the Yankee Springs Recreation Area. Consider joining us. It will be a great place to test out new hammocks and get to know hangers from across Michigan.

    Welcome from Florida!
It amazes me how long it takes us, while sleeping on the ground, to discover the obvious.

Welcome to the forum from the northern 'burbs of Oakland County! If you seek a pleasant place to hang, Michigan offers lots of options. Enjoy the forums.
