Would a small hammock only campground survive? Say 5 acres with with a stream in it. 10 sites with trees. Park and pay at the street and walk in.

Survive is a relative term.
What sort of fee would you need to collect?
What kind of ammenities? What kind of overhead expenses will you have? Water? Restrooms? Trash Service? Security? What level of liability coverage would you need to cya?
I like the idea of it and am interested in folloiwing where this conversation goes.
Texas Fall Group Hang 2019
Looking back to last year to reminisce and forward to post Covid-19 hangs in 2021

You would need larger to make it viable. That would also mean rental hammocks....and some sort of theme (like "hammock lounges by the scenic waterfall", "relax in the hammock chairs in our greenhouse", "say no to chairs" and "tents are for grounddwellers" t-shirts and stickers, maybe some cool tree climb/hangs with those huge nets suspended high-up on trees to explore on....I don't know! -stuff like that! Expand on the idea of "hanging"
What would be available in the area for things to see and do ?. A place to hang with nothing but a stream would be questionable at best.
i like this idea but i agree, it should be larger. i would also maybe try to have a few diff hammocks available to try out for ppl who are getting into hanging. i'm actually really liking this idea. a lot of hangers that i've met have stated that at one time or another, they have had trouble finding campgrounds that accept hammocks so that would be a great idea for hangers to gather outside of the annual/semi-annual group hangs.
Use land that paper companies plant pine forests on. Those trees are like 15" on center in both directions, lined up like soldiers on parade! I wonder how many hammocks you could hang on 5 acres of that!

I have a buddy that owns a KOA. I am thinking of asking him if he would consider a hammock only section in his camp. I think parking would be his problem. What I would like ot do if I won the lottery would be to go into businss with him and buy some additional land that was Hammock only.
You would definitely need to offer something out of the ordinary. I wouldn't want to pay for access to trees, considering the abundance of stealth sites.
Forum member Crackerbilly has the H.O.C. (hammocks only campground) in Spring City,Tenn. Here's a link to the first post about it.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
For whom?
For myself anyway, nothing but trees and a stream is perfect, and sounds exactly like the sites I currently seek out when hanging.
I like simplicity, and peace. Sounds great to me. My only issue would be that I can't get far enough away from other people in only 5 acres. HOC sounds awesome!
