    Lurker turned DIYer

    Hey all,

I've been drooling about having a hammock setup for years now. I stumbled upon this forum a while ago and the DIY section specifically. I was very impressed with what you all were doing and decided to tap into the sewing skills I learned in high school. Here are my first stabs at it:

Took it on it's first trip and it was a huge success! I loved setting up where no ground dweller could dream of and it was SO comfortable!

This was my view from the hammock.

A big thank you to this community for being so helpful to each other and working problems out together. I'm now a hammock camper for life, and also a DIY addict. Next stop: wife and dog get their own hammocks!

Wow, that is uber impressive! Did you work from a pattern that is here somewhere or from scratch?

Thanks everyone! Another thing I love is my whole setup weighs less than just my tent did! Has anyone tried hammock camping and then gone back to the ground?
