VT > Long trail hike-Looking for some resupply point

Hey guys and gals, my mom is planning to finished the LT and started hiking today just south of Stratton. My 14yo and I plan on meeting up with her for 10 days in September. The one problem I seem to have is finding a resupply after Camel's hump. (I have someone driving up right before that.) I would love to not have to take a week's worth of food up one of the hardest climbs on the trail. The plan, I know that plans change, would put us leaving Taft Lodge on Mansfield on the 11th. Then Passing rte 15 on the 12th. We aren't very fast hikers. Anyone from the area have any good ideas or willing to help? Would love any advice I can get. Thanks!

One option is to mail your food to the Jonesville post office. I don't think the new Winooski bridge will be open yet so you'll probably be walking the road right through Jonesville. The post office recently cut back hours so take into consideration what day and time of day you expect to hit that area. I neglected to take the day into consideration until I was hiking Saturday morning and realized the PO was only open until noon and I was not going to make 11 miles in 4 hours. Luckily I had cell phone signal, was able to call the PO and after enough pleading convinced an employee to leave my package behind the building.

That may be an option. Our mileage that day might put us coming in late though. 13.5 miles including camels hump...

I am sure you will get other options here but if you are stuck give the GMC a call at 802.244.7037
I was in their office 2 weeks ago and they love talking LT and strategy.

They also have a list of trail angels that might be willing to meet you with a supply. Heck they are close enough they might be willing to drive a box up to smugglers notch for you...
