    First Hammock Setup

Just thought I would share the first hammock setup I ever did. This was from a camping trip I took with my son last Fall. All he had was the hammock and tree straps, so I made him a rain fly out of a tarp I bought for a few bucks. It worked great. Notice the make-shift under quilt. It is a Coleman sleeping bag tied up to the hanging rings. He crawls into his zero degree mummy bag to sleep, and says that he doesn't get cold at all. He slept better than I did in my tent on a leaky air mattress.Inside_Cam.jpegInside_Empty.jpegoutside_1.jpegOutside_2.jpeg

Good to go, might have an issue with the gaps at the end of UQ if it gets breezy is all

That is a nifty underquilt rig! It looks like you set him up well. Any idea on how cold it was that night?

    Looking good, Larry.

But yes, cinch up the ends of the UQ to eliminate any doubt.

I don't think it got very cold that night. I ended up getting hot in my tent. However, he did sleep in this same setup this past April for a couple of nights, and the temps were in the low 50s. He said that he actually got hot one night, and had to unzip his sleeping bag to cool off. I'll remember to try and cinch up the ends on our next trip (next weekend).
