Question for you Wilderness Logics Lovers

Hey guys I am attempting to get a hammock set up for my dad. We used to hunt together all the time but times have changed and I'm hoping to get a new hobby for the family to do together. My main concern is for him to be able to have a successful or comfortable experience in the hammock. He has mentioned that he sleeps on his side in the bed and has a hard time sleeping on his back. I believe I remember reading where some of you have mentioned that the lite owl is one of the better hammocks for side sleeping. The blackbird xlc also comes to mind but is a good bit more expensive. My dad is about 6'1" and 230lbs. What do ya'll think?

The longer hammocks like the LO make for a flatter lay and would likely be a good choice. That said, I'm a side sleeper that has never been able to sleep on my side in a hammock. I find myself comfortably on my back. I think it just works out that way for a lot of folks.

The reason the wbbb cost more is because it has a bugnet. The Owl does not.
I only side sleep and have had good luck with just about any 11' hammock.
I have a WL Snipe which is a single layer Owl and side sleeping is very easy.
The big trick for keeping your dad comfortable will be a good UQ.
Don't ask him to wrestle with a pad.

I'd say its a good choice as any.
I'm 6'2" 190 and have a LO. I'm able to sleep on my side in it.
Anybody just starting will probably need some time to adjust.

I don't really sleep on my back in bed that much either but I have been able to sleep on my back pretty well in the hammock. I have under quilts so I have that covered. I also might build him a turtle dog stand so he can start practicing. Thanks for the input.

I have a WL Night Owl and can sleep on my side and even my stomach. I'm 6'3 and never slept on my back, that was until I discovered hammocks, now I can comfortably sleep in all 3 positions.

You can't go wrong with WL or many of the other vendors who sell 11' hammocks. My experience has been with WL and I own the Night Owl and have no problem with side sleeping. Something that seems to help me sleep in any position I want is the pad for insulation that fits in between the layers and seems to firm the hammock up making it easier for me to move around in..

Lawson Blue Ridge. It has spreader bars and mine was only 99$ at Sportsman warehouse. It feels like a cot .

I am 5'11" at 200 pounds and am a side sleeper. I have slept great in my lite owl and 10' dream hammock danger bird. Gathered end hammocks seem to work well for side sleeping for me, even on the side fetal position.
