Just put together a bamboo hammock stand.
Was disappointed in the bundle of bamboo from Home Depot. It was not cured properly before shipping so only 9 of 25 had no cracks today as I culled through them for this project.
The cross beam is a very nice piece of redwood drip off of this house. The facia board underneath was rotten but this was preserved in good shape. It is 15'-9" and I used it as is.
The feet of the bamboo poles are 45" apart, which makes the angle about 30 degrees.
Used hemp twine to lash the poles together and as spacer guides below. Manila rope suspends the beam at each end.
That's my new ring buckle suspension with mule tape painted black and green.
Will need to tweak the whole thing, probably, but when I climbed in there wasn't even a creak.
To carry that long beam I'll have to put a rack of some kind on the side of my truck.
