    Messed up FRL

So far I have been good with making continuous loops and whoopies using TheBrewGuy's videos. Tonight I was trying to make a FRL for my 11' hammock. I followed what I thought was step by step measurements but came out 6.5" too long. He made his for a Nano so I adjusted my measurements accordingly or so I thought. I cut my length of dynaglide to 130". At the start of the tip I measured @ 4" then to 8". Went to the opposite end and back measured from 130" to 126" then to 122". So from 8" to 122" should be 110" but its 114". I drew this out and followed what I thought was right. I didnt catch the 114" b/c I was sure this was correct. I guess I missed something along the line. Can you see where I messed up? Sorry if its obvious, ...new to this DIY stuff. Man am I honked off!!! Thanks for any help.

I was able to undo one of the loops to make it look like what it did when I started. Is it just that simple to cut off 6.5"? Not going any further until I hear more. Thanks again!

Well I ended up cutting 7" off the loop I got undone. From there measued 4" and 8" relocked and got 110". I sure would like to know where I went wrong.

I guess your talking about an adjustable SRL(structural ridge line). I don't know where you went wrong so I cannot help you.

I usually make the fixed brummel end loop with about 5" or so, then measure out from the finished loop to where the middle of the adjustable loop will be. Add about 18" and come back in about 6" and make the bury about 6". This gives me about a foot of travel.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I wondered what an FRL was for quite a few minutes before figuring out he meant a fixed ridgeline. FRL is not a commonly used acronym.

I've never really seen the point in a fixed ridgeline; adjustable ridgelines are easier for me to make, and I don't have to worry about "where did I go wrong?" because, hey, it's adjustable!

I can move the ASRL to another hammock of different length and adjust accordingly to get my 30% sag.
