    Hello from the Mountain State

Hello to everyone here. Looking forward to being here.

I've been looking around and there is an a lot of information to digest on this site and was hoping some of you could help point me in the right direction. My primary form of camping is backpacking, not necessarily UL packing but I do like to keep the weight and size of my pack down. I purchased a ENO double nest this summer to use for just general hanging out around camp and quickly realized that I could probably get a better nights sleep in a hammock than on the ground. My wife and I have been converted and are ready to move up off the ground and sleep in the trees.

I know that there may be better hammocks on the market but the ENO will suit our needs for now and I will have to purchase another before next spring. My real dilemma is trying figure out which under quilts we need. I know that I want three season UQ's but have a hard time visualizing packed(stuffed) sizes and was hoping to find some comparison images before I order our UQ's.

    Thanks.

Welcome from Philly and I am sure someone with much more knowledge will chime in to help.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome to HF. What part of WV are you from?

I rarely use stuff sacks for my quilts, I just shove them in a plastic bag and use that as a compression stuff bag, but the stuff sack that came with my older 15 degree, 3/4 length phoenix is about 10" in diameter by about 14" long. I think the newer ones will pack up a bit smaller than that. The 15 degree burrow was in a stuff sack about the same diameter by a couple of inches longer. They both would have compressed a bit smaller too.
The quilts will probably not take up much more, if any, space than a sleeping bag and pad.
As for your hammock, ENO will work well. A lot of people use ENO hammocks and have no need for anything else.
My first hammock was a Grand Trunk ultralight. I am using it for my every night hammock right now.
